ABOUT THE SHOW

It all started when Delores, an unhappy housewife, and George, a shoe salesman, met at Shoe Fantasy and it was love at first shoe-fitting. The only thing standing in the way was Delores’ doting but half-witted husband, Marvin, who would never agree to a divorce. So there was only one thing left to do—kill Marvin so they can run off together and live a carefree life of passion and romance in a tropical paradise.

ED BASSETT (George) is thrilled to be on stage again. MISSY COWAN (Dolores) returns to the Phoenix stage after appearing in VARNY THE VAMPIRE as Signora Belle Stage credits include RUMORS (Chris), THE REAL PROBLEM (Juliet) and SHIVERING SANTA (Merry Mistletoe) with CTAW. SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS (Beatrice) and SAGA OF THE PROSPECTOR’S DAUGHTER (Miss Clydesdale) with Washington Dramatists. Thank you to my family and friends for their love and support. It has been wonderful working with this talented group of actors, director, and stage manager. I’m so happy to be a part of the PSC family.
TONY BENEDETTI (Marvin) is excited to be back at PSC. He was last seen here as the Stage Manager (in the show) in MURDER AT THE PROP TABLE. Most recently, Tony has appeared in SMOOTH OPERATOR, a musical one act play with The Valley Chordsmen, and as Jason in SWEAT with Brookfield Theatre for the Arts. Other PSC credits include Hindu Harry in THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN, Slovitch in FOOLS, and The Captain in FEMALE TRANSPORT. Thanks to my friends and family for all their support.
LAURA STURGES-CORTEZ (Esperanza) most recently appeared in VARNEY THE VAMPIRE. Stage credits include KILL ME, DEADLY, SHERWOOD; THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, FOUR WEDDINGS AND AN ELVIS, FOOLS, JEKYLL & HYDE, THE THREE MUSKETEERS, FEMALE TRANSPORT, MOON OVER BUFFALO AND ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST with Phoenix Stage Company after a long absence from theater. Thank you to my family for always supporting me. A special thank you to my friends, old & new for being silly and putting up with me. Thank you to Carlos, I love you.

Director of FOUR WEDDINGS AND AN ELVIS, MOON OVER BUFFALO, DEATH BY FATAL MURDER, FARCE OF NATURE, JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL and appearing on stage in CAYUGA CANAL GIRLS, DEATH & TAXES, KILL ME DEADLY, DARK AND STORMY NIGHT and LADY PARTS. Other credits include Costume Designer for THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, GODSPELL, IT’S ONLY A PLAY and ELF, THE MUSICAL at Landmark Community Theater.
