ABOUT THE SHOWBright Young Things of Connecticut Are Doing A(nother) Sequel!
Join us at Phoenix Stage Company April 6th at 8pm & April 7th at 3pm for Roles We’ll Never Get to Play a Miscast Cabaret. A Miscast performance features singers presenting numbers they’d NEVER be cast in for the original show. It’ll be a fun evening of gender-bending, age-inappropriate, and “against type” performances. WHO'S WHOCHAD CELINI (he/him): Last seen at Phoenix for The Bright Young Things Comedy and Villain Cabaret last year. Other stage credits include the University of New Haven Theater Department’s production of GODSPELL (Jesus). He would like to thank his family for all their support in his theatrical pursuits and the amazing people at Phoenix that made this piece of theater possible. Also thanks to Cav, Tasha, and Megan for sticking by his side and never dulling his love of performing
DESTINY WHITTEN (she/her) Destiny is thrilled to be a part of such an amazing cast with the Bright Young Things at The Phoenix Stage Company. Most recent credits include: Rent (Mimi Marquez) White Rabbit Theater and Beautiful The Carol King Musical (Shirelles/Ensemble) Landmark Community Theater. Destiny would like to thank Paula, Ed and Dani for helping put this show together. She appreciates all of those who have given her support throughout this process. She would like to send love to her castmates, their encouragement means the world to her. Thank you for all of the laughs and love! Now come join us on THE OTHER SIDE.
EMILY PARIS (she/her) is excited to be back with The Bright Young Things playing all the wrong roles! She is so happy to be able to keep performing with all these great people in such a welcoming space. She is dedicating this cabaret to her Loki
KATERINA LEVASSEUR (she/her) is excited to make her debut at Phoenix Stage Company among such talent! Her past credits include (Janet) “The Rocky Horror Show,” (Sandy) "Grease," (Cell Block Girl) "Chicago," (Irene) "Radium Girls." Katerina is a full-time nanny, so she’s grateful to have theatre as a creative outlet! She’d like to thank her friends and family for always coming to her shows (despite not being theatre people themselves!) Lastly, a huge shoutout to Matt and Destiny, performing with you two always fills my heart with love
KATHERINE A. GRIFFIN (she/her) is a neuroqueer educator and theatre artist in CT. She wants to thank Paula, Killian, and the rest of the crew for the laughs, grace, and support. Disclaimer: Katherine is not singing "Life is a Highway" in this cabaret, which is perhaps the cause of the recent queries re: her humanness. Her official statement is "Please stop spreading rumors about me being a car. This is a deeply personal matter. Leave my family alone.
KILLIAN MEEHAN (he/him): Returns to Phoenix Stage with the Bright Young Things for his third cabaret! Select credits include (Noel) “Panto of the Opera” at Pantochino Productions, (Gaston) “Beauty and the Beast” at Landmark Community Theater, (Bill) “Complete History of Theater ABRIDGED” at Phoenix Stage. He would like to thank his vocal coach, Paul Elkin, for making this all possible! And his Mom, Dad and Dani for all the help and support. Lastly, he really wishes they would just STOP moving the line!
MATTHEW BENSON (he/him): Matthew was a previous Cast Member for The Walt Disney Company. He is so excited to be returning to the theater with the Bright Young Things at Phoenix Stage! His previous credits include It’s Our House Now! A Villain Cabaret (Performer), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Eddie), Beauty and the Beast (Ensemble), Judith (U/S Howard, Max), A Chorus Line (Al), The Worker (Man), West Side Story (Snowboy), and A Chorus Line (Mike). He would like to thank his family and friends for his support on his acting journey. Insta:matthew_benso
SYD SEBASTIAN (she/they): Syd is excited to come back to Phoenix Stage company after the Villain Cabaret this past winter. Most of their performance credits come from the Renaissance Faire, most commonly seen as the Paulie Pester the jester. The Bright Young Things have worked so hard on this cabaret and she’s thankful to everyone who made this show happen.
